Important Info & Upcoming Events

Well, simply because I,
the WEBMASTER!!, can, I believe it is due time to say properly and for a final time goodbye Class of 2010 and hello Senior CLASS OF 2011!!! WOOT! Anyway, I'm saddened to see time to continue moving. However, more and more people are going to join this family. As you may have noted, this is a family. Not a team. We have traditions to uphold and I pray that these are kept. I will keep you posted and there is a Facebook group online so students are able to go find us there for updates that may be missed and to meet other swimmers, may they be new or old. :)

PS
First tradition, learn "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen. Test over it during the 2nd week

General Info
*Meets during the week: the bus will always leave from the front parking lot at GHS.
*Meets on weekends: the bus will always leave from Williams Stadium in front of the Field House.
*Remember to bring: towels, suits, goggles, extra water and cash. Snacks and
water will be provided by the swim team, but realize that it might not be enough.

*Parents: you may want to bring extra cash as well. There is usually a small entry
fee ($2) for spectators at swim meets and sometimes there are heat sheets ($5) for purchase.
Also Parents, you are always welcome and encouraged to attend swim meets! In
fact our school receives "volunteer hours" for each parent who attends a meet so
please come support our team! Your child will appreciate it and so will your school!

Okay, to all swimmers joining during the 2010-2011 season, Coach Crystal wants to remind everyone that physicals must be completed BEFORE the school year starts otherwise those individuals will not be able to swim during the 1st grading cycle.

Also, we will have our traditional Summer Swim Party soon. For this event,
  • Seniors are obligated to bring 2 liter drink(s)
  • Juniors are obligated to bring chips and side dishes.
  • Sophomores are obligated to bring desserts
  • And Freshmen are cordially and explicitly invited to attend.
The Location is tentative as is the date.

Notice: The Annual Swim Team Car Wash will be on August 18th at Sonic off of Garland Road and 190 from 10 A.M. to 3 P.M. If possible, please show up for this event.

The Silent Auction to raise money for our expenses will be on September 13th from 6:30 - 8:30.

Finally Initiation will be on September 17th during the HBJ Game.
